Jodie Abacus – Halfway to Mexico

As a music fan, it can get a little depressing to consider how supermarkets are able to shift millions of middle-of-the-road ‘safe’ albums by middle-of-the-road ‘safe’ artists week after week, so it can be particularly life-affirming when a track like this comes along.

Truly inventive, creative and innovative music is indeed alive and well, and ably demonstrated by the brilliant Jodie Abacus with the track Halfway to Mexico, taken from the For Real Life and Not Pretend EP which is out now.

Also, catch the South London singer in his support slot on the Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow dates of Laura Mvula‘s UK tour in May.
